It began in 1974 when the family came together and opened Estelle’s Jewelry in Port Arthur, Texas. The goal was to provide quality goods and personal service so that we could differentiate our business from the other Jewelers in the market. Providing a full line of jewelry, gifts, and accessories allowed us to ensure that we were able to address the needs of the community.
Keeping up with, and providing the latest styles in the industry was our primary objective. Ensuring that the highest quality product was the deliverable established our position in the market as a quality jeweler; “word of mouth” was our best marketing channel.
As the business grew, providing in-house jewelry design, manufacture, and repair allowed Estelle’s Jewelry to become a well-established resource to the community. From the beginning, Estelle’s Jewelers established her brand in her own way. She was amazing and gave 100% on everything; which included cooking both breakfast and supper.
Estelle established her quality of brand from the beginning by providing quality for value for gold and diamond jewelry and jewelry accessories.
And then, the 60’ & 70’s. “The troubled world we are out to fix, senior class of ’76.” That was the second generation; ’60 – ’80. The family pooled together at the right time in life for everyone, and great things begin to happen. As time went by, related skillsets and technologies began changing the landscape.
Quality and value was still core to our values, but we had to adapt to include the value add of technology. Learning and experience became core to moving forward with at that time. We began provide In-House Jewelry Repair, Custom Design and Casting. This was the time we were able to right-size at the right-time. …and get the third generation going.
The next forty years leads us into the digital space and digital technology. Online sales, digital manufacturing and technology have become core to the family business model as it evolved. Technology has made such an impact on the jewelry and gift industry, a new generation will have to bring our business to market as Isaac Barbosa Jewelers. My goal is to leverage the culture and tools of the new generation to bring top quality goods and personal services to our customers.
Our Vision is that the family history will continue to carry quality and value along with personal services our Mission.
Now that fourth generation is coming along, it seems that technology is still a driving force in the marketplace. The Internet is now common place in the retail industry with the finance industry making online shopping point and click.
But that is for them to pass on the history.
